SUMMARY:Canal Lot Owners Weed Spray Meeting
DESCRIPTION:EDIT: THIS MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELED \nAugust 22\, 2025 \nTo ILE Members\, \nI took on the canal issues because multiple people had reached out to me.  This was something that the BoD always had the right to change\, we could have put it on the agenda discussed it and voted on it.  When I was elected I always said I wanted community input\, that was the only thing I was trying to do.  I had a plan\, I was working on it.  However\, to much misinformation and hostilty on facebook has made this not doable.  A plan will be introduced to the BoD in September and we will vote on it. \nI have done lots of research\, I have spoken to other sprayers\, I have learned a lot. \nThe good\, great news is we will have 3 seats open for the board for 2026\, 3 year terms.  I hope many of you run to make the changes you want. \nRebecca Watson\nBoard of Directors \nTo the ILE canal lot owners\, \nI have tried to find a middle ground for the spraying of weeds in the canals.  I had lots of people call me from the August newsletter.  The boaters want the middle clear to get the boats in and out of the canals. The fishermen want lily pads around the docks and their shore for the fish to hide and spawn. \nI came up with spraying down the middle of the canals\, 15 feet from each shore line.  I have been asked to discontinue the spraying all together by several community members.  There is no way to make everyone happy on this.   \nI am setting up a meeting for canal lot owners only.  We want to take a vote on spraying or not spraying the canals.  The meeting will be on the 17th of September at 7pm.  We will meet in the ballroom to have a discussion on the pros and cons then take a vote.
